Lucknow Development Authority to build township with 6,000 housing units

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has prepared the plan for the creation of a township of 6,000 residential units. Around 22,000 people are expected to receive accommodation in these units, and 1,500 commercial units would be included in the township.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) would soon develop a township containing 6,000 homes along Sultanpur Road. The Authority has readied the blueprint for the acquisition of nearly 2,052 acres of land across nine villages for the township scheme. The authority approved the proposal for the township in July 2020.

It is estimated that around 22,000 people will get accommodation under the LDA township scheme, and additionally, about 1,500 commercial units would come up in the upcoming township. The township would also have facilities such as a community centre, school, parks, bank, shopping complex, temple and a swimming pool.

An official informed that the township would be completed by the end of 2025 at the estimated cost of Rs 148 crore. The tentative deadline for land acquisition has been set for March 2021, and the construction would begin immediately after. The land for the project would be acquired across nine villages - Malakpur, Dhakwa, Bajpur, Malauli, Chaurahia, Yaad Sarai, Dularmau, Salauli, and Samenapur.
