On-demand workplace provider GoFloaters is developing a Work From Anywhere platform that companies can use to optimise on their resources and manage all their real estate assets.

The Chennai-based company which saw a churn through the pandemic owing to the lockdown and people working from home saw this as an opportunity with the economy opening up and employees keen to get back to working from office spaces. However, with the nature of changing work environments and the adoption of hybrid working models, the company said that it views this platform as a great business opportunity.

"We're building a work from anywhere platform for our company where we will help a company manage all their real estate assets - be it their own assets, their headquarters in Mumbai, or their own branch office in Pune or even the offices from the GoFloaters network that they use when they want. We want the administrative staff of the company to have one window into all of these assets so we can manage how they are being utilised through the month and through the week," said Shyam Sundar Nagarajan, Founder & CEO of GoFloaters

He went on to add that many companies are still not mandating that everybody must come to office and hence, these offices will shrink over a period of time.

"There might not be a desk with the employee's nameboard any longer. Whenever you go into your office, you take a seat which is free. We are looking to extend our technology for companies to be able to give their own office on this hot desking model where employees of the company can book their own seats before coming into work and a conference room can be booked by a team in advance."

Further, owing to lesser number of employees coming into work, he said that companies will also be able to optimise resources by getting people who are looking for a place to work for a day to book a seat in their premises

"A lot of companies will still look at empty desks and empty meeting rooms," Nagarajan said. "Going forward we will look at helping companies monetise that excess inventory. This Work From Anywhere platform is about optimising your asset utilisation and having a single window view to looking at all of this."

The company is also extremely focused on geographical expansion, especially with a focus on penetrating tier II cities. GoFloaters is present in 10 tier one cities and 12 tier two cities

"We are also focused on helping companies go hybrid. With the pandemic we are even more excited about being able to impact larger sections of the population to give them the flexibility to work from wherever they want to work. You can work from Trichy for an NCR based company," he said

The company has also been an active part of several Covid-relief measures. During the second wave, the team developed a hospital bed booking system for a volunteer group where over 800 patients were served. Further, the Greater Chennai Corporation's vaccination booking portal runs on GoFloaters. The portal was a low code development and was built in five days and began with over 7000 slots
