Welcome to r/guitar, a community devoted to the exchange of guitar related information and entertainment. I have the HX Stomp and Headrush Gigboard (also former user of the Eleven Rack). I would strongly advise anyone who gets the Stomp to drop another $20 on a dual foot switch or go all out for the $130 expression pedal with the toe switch (that's what I do).. Adding the compressor end of chain and more aggressive high cuts has helped quite a bit. This is a forum where guitarists, from novice to experienced, can explore the world of guitar through a variety of media and discussion. I don't like that I'm limited to 6 blocks with the Stomp, including amp and cab. Press J to jump to the feed. I would love to get a Stomp, however Im unclear how I can obtain a similar set up where I can change between banks without bending down in a live setting. Aside from that, I like the Gigboard - but as a compliment to the Helix/Stomp, not instead of - so I'm in a different place on it. With the HX Stomp, I tried the 2204 but it was too hot. In 2019, the two units have diverged: Line 6 stripped out the amp models for the HX Effects, then downsized the Helix into the arguably too-small HX Stomp. There will be Preset, Snapshot and Looper commands. Well I got to spend a few hours tinkering with the modelers this weekend. It's pricey, but it's built like a tank, and the toe switch option is nice.   You cannot paste images directly. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. The biggest thing is the processing power. Sign in to follow this . I've mostly been swapping between the HX Stomp and the Axe 3. In the end, I went with the Stomp because I personally feel that it has far better routing capabilities, and I like the sound more. Im glad Ive spent some time with it because I now know that a Stomp or Pod go would not make me happy. Next year will probably be FM3 year for me. Ive been adding the LA Comp to the end of every chain using the recommendations from Jason S. On a side note - I haven't touched my Gigboard since getting situated with Helix Native and a midi foot controller. HeadRush, meanwhile, has delivered just one smaller offering, the Gigboard, with the same range of effects and amp models, plus touchscreen functionality, in a perfectly proportioned format.   Pasted as rich text. If you can't test both units you're going to have to just pick one, and it sounds like you've already got a favourite. Helix Stomp vs Headrush Gigboard. tforest, September 23, 2019 in Helix. I am interested in the FM3 to potentially replace the Axe 3 as I don’t need the full power and the smaller form factor is neat. This unit would be my amp plus pedalboard, I am not a tone snob but I do play metal and hard rock. The HX Stomp does have Stereo Effects loop I/O, where the Gigboard has built-in stereo modulation and delay effects, but doesn't have Stereo Effects Loop I/O which I found to be an odd decision from Headrush, that was probably done to keep the Gigboard from biting into Headrush Pedalboard sales. I don't like that I'm limited to 6 blocks with the Stomp, including amp and cab. I realize though I only use about 10% of its capability and I'd like to downsize to something smaller.
